Trastevere & Jewish District Food Walk
Duration: 3 hours
This walk focuses on the Jewish District and Trastevere – traditionally home to people outside the power-wielding majority – while delving into the incredibly rich food culture of these two neighborhoods. The walk covers the District itself and the history of the Jewish community in Rome (the oldest in Europe), as well taking in kosher restaurants and Jewish-owned businesses that give the area its character today. From there you will continue, crossing the river Tiber, into Trastevere, one of the most characteristic neighborhoods in Rome, with some of the city’s most vibrant street food culture.
