Lazio and the King of Grapes “Cesanese”

Lazio’s most intriguing wines are made from the black grape variety Cesanese di Affile. During our full day excursion from Rome, we will meet one small wine producer in Olevano Romano who produces two stellar Cesanese wines.
Guided by your certified sommelier and wine producer, we will visit the vineyard learning about the terroir, climate, soil, grape varieties and the history of the family vineyard.
We finish with a tasting of two Cesanese red wines in his home before going into the town to enjoy a curated meal at a renowned restaurant.
We will dine on local and seasonal dishes paired with wines from Lazio and beyond. The tasting menu includes creative and traditional Olevano Romano dishes to complement each wine varietal. An explanation for each pairing as well as information on the wines chosen is provided.
